Shirley Bassey told Des O'Connor: 'I thought you were homosexual'

Dame Shirley Bassey stopped dating fellow performer Des O'Connor early in their careers because she thought he was homosexual the crooner has disclosed.
The two have been friends for round 50 years and Des was suprised to hear that she thought that but took the whole thing as a big joke.
Des clearly isnt gay as he has been married four times and has five children he said he did once go

on a date with Shirley and took her on a rowing boat trip in Leeds and treated her to a film, but sadly they never got properly together.
Well at least he now knows the reason she wouldnt go out with him again haha.

Des is a family friend and when he is appearing locally we obviously go and see him. this happened in his dressing room before a show, he was getting ready while chatting. he is very tanned and the robe was dark brown. It was difficult to see where the robe ended and Des started.
